Links to More Information About the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel

The Ten Lost Tribes Challenge is an extraordinary experience for a select group of investigative explorers, to travel to remote locations in search of living descendants of the Ten Lost Tribes. The expedition offers the intrigue of historical and geographical research, the captivating investigation of unique anthropological rituals and traditions, and contributes to the understanding, enjoyment and appreciation of differing cultural customs, practices and folklore. This will be the first time ever that a journey of this nature has been undertaken, and it promises to be a most exciting expedition.

The whereabouts of the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel have been a mystery from time immemorial. Where did they go? How did they get there? Where are they now? Our aim is to discover the routes, the places and the people whose ancestors came from the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel; to witness how they wandered to some of the most distant locations in Asia, to observe how they maintained some of their ancient customs, and to document their lifestyles today, far removed from their antecedents' origins.

In recent years, authentic descendants of some of the Lost Tribes have indeed been discovered. Today, we know with almost complete certainty that the 'Beta Israel' community of Ethiopia is descended from the biblical tribe of Dan, and that descendants of the tribe of Menashe live in the Indian states of Mizoram and Manipur, and also in Myanmar.

Not all the descendants of the Lost Ten Tribes are necessarily Jewish. The Afreedi Pathans in India are mostly Muslim, even though they have a tradition of Israelite descent. The Chiang Min tribe in China's Szechuan province display almost definitive Israelite traditions, as do practitioners of Japan's Shinto faith.

Our expedition will also expose native populations and local researchers to a variety of academic sources and personalities who will be accompanying our journey and this cross-pollination of ideas and impressions will undoubtedly enrich all the participants in these exceptional meetings.

In order to help you prepare for the expedition we have gathered a small list of links that will help you gain a better understanding of the subject matter. This list is presented below.
