Young forever Is it possible?
Since the expulsion of Adam from the Garden of Eden old age and death are considered curses and our days on earth are indeed limited .In our daily life we usually tend to ignore death, that awaits us at the end of the way. We do not accept the fact that we are but passing episodes upon the face of the earth and are constantly flooded by messages of eternal youth, of a world that belongs to the young ones etc.
Biologically speaking we are created for procreation alone. Biologically speaking a man whose children have achieved sexual maturity can, in fact, surrender his place and leave this world, but isn't this exactly the time for us to start enjoying life with less responsibilities, financial independence and lots of free time? The trouble is that at just this point in our cycle of life old age starts catching up with us.
Most systems start falling apart. Blood circulation falters, a rise in the incidences of high blood pressure, heart and brain apoplexies are more frequent, as are all types of cancer. Osteoporosis sets in as well as a horde of other diseases.
Aging is unstoppable, but today we do hold the knowledge to delay the aging processes and significantly improve the quality of life in the years that are left between the children's? maturation and the unavoidable end. At every passing day, more knowledge is added to the reservoir and enables us to offer solutions for a better life at an older age.
What is aging?
Aging is a natural process that is shared by all living creatures. Even healthy persons who keep up their health in every possible way will age eventually. Diseases, on the other hand, are sickly states which, although more frequent as the years go by, are by no means a "must".
Phenomena like wrinkled and flaccid skin, decline in sight and hearing abilities, decline in sexual power are typical to the aging process and to be expected as we grow older and by no means considered as diseases.
Changes take place not only in the skin, muscles, heart and blood vessels, but in each and every cell of the body and these changes harm its immune system and decrease the body's abilities to effectively deal with diseases. Sometimes the body destroys, by mistake, healthy tissues, which it identifies as alien tissues. Some old age diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and a certain type of inflammation of the thyroid are caused by this mistaken identification. The older body also finds it more difficult to handle infections and to attack cancer cells.
