Preliminary Voting Round
January 9th — January 19th, 2006

  1. The voting in 12 of the 17 categories will take place in two rounds due to the large number of nominees. Readers can vote in all 12 categories in the preliminary round starting on Monday January 9th. Each category will be split into group A and group B. Readers can vote in each group.
  2. The top six vote getters from each category in both group A and group B will proceed to the final round of voting.
  3. Readers may vote once in each poll group every three days (eg: once in Best Post Group A, and also once in Best Post Group B). This means that every three days you can vote again in the same poll group for any nominee. You can vote again for a nominee you have already voted for, or choose to vote for other nominees.

Final Voting Round
January 24th — February 2nd, 2006

  1. Readers can vote in all 17 final categories. Readers may vote once in each category every three days.
  2. Winners and top three finalists will be announced in each category on February 9th, 2006.

General

  1. In the event of a numerical tie the Judges may announce a tie.
  2. At their sole discretion, Judges reserve the power to disqualify votes posted through improper voting procedures.
Ballot Stuffing: The Judges shall be regularly checking poll records and IP addresses, and in cases of multiple voting suspicious votes will be deleted. In the final round of voting we shall be blocking certain IP addresses which we have identified as engaging in irregular voting.
  3. In the event of software problems or failure, or if the Judges suspect improper voting, the Judges may postpone voting or reschedule a new round of voting as they see fit. The Judges may also temporarily suspend and reschedule voting should a significant news event occur.
  4. In all cases the Judges decision is final and binding on all nominees and voters.

The primary aim of the Jewish and Israel Blog Awards is to showcase and increase awareness of the community’s vast spectrum of bloggers, and we hope readers and participants will approach this online event in a positive spirit and vote in all categories.

The Jewish & Israeli Blog Awards were originally conceived by "Aussie Dave" of Israellycool.com in 2004. Thanks for his assistance in conducting the nomination stage and for his continuous help and advice with this year's awards.
