Avner Maimon, 49, of Netanya, was murdered by terrorists on a side road south of Yabed in northern Samaria Thursday evening. The attackers shot him several times at close range before fleeing in their car.
Yabed is located in Area B, which is under Israeli security control. Security forces, notified by local residents, reached the site and discovered Maimon's bullet-ridden body on the dirt road near his car, security officials said. Maimon had apparently traveled to Yabed to purchase charcoal, which was found in his vehicle, Judea and Samaria police officers said.
Security forces searched the village and its outskirts for the perpetrators.
The IDF Spokesman reiterated the standing order issued by OC Central Command barring Israelis from entering Area A, which is under Palestinian control, and advised Israelis to refrain from entering Area B without prior coordination with the IDF.
