Mike Pintek has had an interesting ride to the top, leading his show to a number one rating in his time slot (11.5 share/189,000 cume). The Mike Pintek Show daily deals with the issues of current events, culture, lifestyle and entertainment, while providing vital listener interaction.
Born in York, Pennsylvania, Mike started working in radio while in college thanks to a friend who needed a day off. Mike's pal hosted a hour long classical music show and needed someone to fill-in for him. While no initial interest in radio, Mike wanted to help out his friend and found he liked the radio. After completing the shift, Mike asked his friend if he could host his own show, only playing rock-n-roll. He started full-time as an overnight disc-jockey, eventually working his way into news, then news director. After moving to Harrisburg, Mike became news director of that station while achieving his greatest accomplishment to date-breaking the story of the Three Mile Island nuclear accident. After Harrisburg, it was off to Washington DC as a morning news anchor and then to the World's First Radio Station, KDKA.
Working as a news reporter and anchor for three years, Mike finally settled into his true love, hosting a talk show. Eighteen years now hosting in Pittsburgh, Mike's interviewed Benjamin Netanyahu, Presidents Ford and Carter, astronauts Buzz Aldren and John Glenn, activist Rosa Parks, entertainers/musicians/actors from Henry Mancini to Cher as well as local newsmakers and celebrities.
This opportunity satisfies one of Mike's lifelong goals, to visit the Middle East. "I want to see where Jesus walked, the Holy Land and see some of the oldest civilized cities," Pintek said of this opportunity to broadcast from Israel. "I have great respect for the Israeli people that have stood up to all their enemies and said 'we will not back down'."
