| 1099-1291 CE - The Crusades
Acting on the orders of Pope Urban II, Christians from Europe embark on a series of Crusades to Palestine to conquer the Holy Places from the Moslem "infidels." They murder many Jews on their way. Jerusalem becomes the capital of a Crusader state that is re-captured in 1187 by the famous Muslim warrior Salah a-Din and finally recaptured again from the Crusaders in 1244 by the Sultan of Egypt.
