The Belgian foreign minister's visit in March was fairly quiet, but
Michel did win praise for his vociferous opposition to Joerg Haider's rise
to prominence in Vienna, including his call to Brussels taxi drivers not to
take anyone to the Austrian Embassy in protest against Haider's extremist
Freedom Party.
