36. Guy Kawasaki
It was a measure of faith in Israel's hi-tech future that Guy
Kawasaki, whose company Garage.com locates and funds promising start-ups,
spent three days here setting up a Herzliya outpost. During his visit,
Kawasaki met with 15 early-stage Israeli start-ups from a variety of fields
including software, data communications, and telecommunications. He was
already seeking venture capital for two Israeli start-ups. "The deal flow
here is very good, second only to Silicon Valley in the quality and
quantity of the companies," he said.
