They came, they swam, they left
In Israel's 52nd year, the rich, famous, and obscure came to visit. Here

39. Erica Jong
Jong, the best-selling author, overcame whatever "fear of flying" she
might have, in order to hop a plane and come to Beersheba for a week. The
icon of female sexual freedom came under the auspices of Ben-Gurion
University's Distinguished Visitors Program, and was given an honorary
Doctor of Letters degree. She spoke frankly about life, love, and of
course, sex. She brought along husband No. 4, who, unlike the previous
three, is Jewish.
