16. Aida Gomez
There is no role as provocative as that of Carmen, and Gomez, artistic
director of the Spanish National Ballet, blazed into the Mann Auditorium in
Tel Aviv in February to dance the role herself. Gomez is only 33, the
youngest person ever to be named the director of a major ballet company,
and strives to blend the uniqueness of Spanish folk culture into new and
exciting dance forms.
