They came, they swam, they left
In Israel's 52nd year, the rich, famous, and obscure came to visit. Here
are our 52 top distinguished tourists
15. Jonathan Gee
Technically, it was a return visit, since jazz pianist Gee was born in
Jaffa - but then again, his family returned to their native England when he
was only three years old, so the local culture didn't have a chance to make
a great impression on him. Since turning professional around 15 years ago,
Gee has become one of the busiest pianists on the London jazz scene. He
plays with Jewish, gypsy, multi-ethnic influences. Gee says he likes to
come play with Israeli musicians so their influence can "rub off" on him.
