35. Madeleine Albright
She came in December and helped facilitate what was supposed to be a breakthrough - initiating the first talks between Israel and Syria in four years. Unfortunately, the talks quickly fizzled. Albright is a reluctant mediator, with visibly little patience for the Middle East run-around. But her boss, Bill Clinton, is still pressing for a spot in the history books, and she is due to return again soon to heighten US involvement in negotiations, and to try and restart the Israel-Syria talks.
