In Israel's 52nd year, the rich, famous, and obscure came to visit. Here
are our 52 top distinguished tourists
13. King Abdullah II
Some thought it was too little, too late, but finally, in April, King
Abdullah II of Jordan stepped across the border and visited with Prime
Minister Ehud Barak on Israeli soil - an Eilat fish farm, to be precise.
The visit took place more than a year after he was crowned king, and after
the monarch had postponed his trip several times. Some of Barak's ministers
wished Abdullah would make more of an effort - like visit Jerusalem,
perhaps.
