PM Netanyahu warned following pirate radio interview

(May 17, 17:30) PM Netanyahu is reported to have been interviewed on a pirate radio station in contravention of the Elections rules forbidding candidates from any broadcast on election day.

Netanyahu gave an assurance to the Central Elections Committee that he would refrain from further such interviews after Central Elections Committee chairman Justice Eliahu Matzza warned him that if broadcasts would not cease, an injuctive order would be applied against him. The absolute ban on the broadcast of election propaganda and live interviews on radio and television came into force at 7 p.m. yesterday Israel time.
