| Purpose |
An interdisciplinary academic program in the humanities and social sciences for university students in the fields of Hebrew and Arabic, Middle East Studies, Jewish and General History, Archaeology, Conflict Resolution and Holocaust Studies, Communications, and the Psychology Honors Program. Students may also enroll in courses in the Department of English, and art majors may enroll in the Department of Art and Art History. The Department also features professional Internships in educational, medical and social services, government offices and civic and cultural institutions. The Department sponsors a Volunteer Program and offers a wide variety of extracurricular trips, tours and activities. |
| Description |
The Department of Overseas Studies is integrated into the academic framework of the University of Haifa. Courses are taught in English and are fully accredited for BA and MA degree requirements. Students live in the University Dormitories with Israeli Students. |

The faculty of the Department of Overseas Studies all hold academic appointments in their home department in the University of Haifa and have excellent reputations as scholars and teachers in their respective fields. |

University students who have completed at least one year of university level study. A GPA of 3.0 is recommended. |

| Location of Activity |
The University of Haifa is located atop Mt. Carmel in the eastern part of the city. The campus borders the Carmel National Park and overlooks the city, the Western Galilee and the Mediterranean Coastal Plain. Accreditation: Full academic accreditation for all courses in the Department and in the University. |
