  ABOUT BEIT FRANKFORTER
Established in 1981 by Rabbi Zechariah and Leah Frankforter to provide a Day Center for the Elderly of Jerusalem. The three main groups are the Mobile, the Physically Frail and the Memory-Enhancement groups. The latter two are bussed to and from their homes and meet in the Gideon wing of the Center. The Frail Elderly are served two hot meals a day. In addition to handicraft groups there is a morning games group, pre-pensioners who meet after work in the afternoons and a French-speaking evening group.

Workshops A wide variety of programs, both physical (daily exercises, art, sculpture, copper-engraving dancing and singing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, trips and handwork, etc) and mental (lectures, language classes - Hebrew (for English and Hebrew speakers) and English at different levels, computer classes, etc.) are specially designed for each group. Inter-group and intergenerational activities with schoolchildren are encouraged. Other services on site include religious activities, doctors, a dentist, a nurse,a social worker, physiotherapy and a chiropodist. Next to the main building is a gift shop (non-profit) where articles created by the Elderly are sold.

Beit Frankforter is only able to continue these activities and services with the help of donations from friends and supporters and with the dedicated work of our volunteers ( both adults and schoolchildren).

We would be happy to give you a tour of our Center. Please call us at 02-6714848 or 6718865.
