Barzilai Medical Center Eye Department
Description	Name: Dr. Shmuel Levartovsky Title: Chairman of the Eye Department Located in Barzilai Medical Center, the eye department, which has a residency program in Ophthalmology, is scattered throughout the hospital. It provides eye surgery and other professional eye services to an ever-growing regional population. Services could be greatly improved by bringing the department under one roof. Barzilai Medical Center is a government hospital in Ashkelon, Israel. It opened in 1961 and is now one of Israel's leading healthcare institutions. The hospital provides important medical services for the population in the northwest Negev area, as well as to the army forces around the Gaza Strip.
Goals For The Future	To build a new facility for the eye department locating all the eye care services under one roof. This will greatly improve the quantity and quality of eye care services to this region of Israel. The Ministry of Health will provide all operating costs for the new Eye Department.
Affiliations	Ben Gurion University in the Negev. The hospital is not affiliated with any political party or religious group.
